revāyāṃ purataḥ kṛtvā purā nandī gaṇeśvaraḥ /
tapastapañjayaṃ kurvaṃstīrthāttīrthaṃ jagāma ha //
In ancient times, Nandī, the lord of the gaṇas, placing the Revā before him,
went from pilgrimage place to pilgrimage place, performing asceticism and achieving victory.
