vanamadhyaṃ gato 'drākṣīdbhramantaṃ piṅgaladvijam //
In the autumn season, in the dark fortnight of Āśvina, the king rejoiced; / having entered the midst of the forest, he saw a tawny brāhmaṇa wandering.
