vṛkṣacchāyānvitaḥ kaṇvo brāhmaṇenāvalokitaḥ /
uvāca taṃ prati tadā vacanaṃ brāhmaṇottamaḥ //

Kaṇva, resting in the shade of a tree, was noticed by the brahmin.
The best of brahmins then addressed these words to him.
