vāyubhakṣaḥ śataṃ sāgraṃ yāvattepe hutāśanaḥ /
tāvattuṣṭo mahādevo varado jātavedasaḥ /
saṃnidhau samupetyātha vacanaṃ cedam abravīt //
As the consumer of oblations, living on wind, performed penance for a full hundred [years], / Mahādeva, the granter of boons, was pleased with the all-knower of beings, / and having approached his presence, spoke this word:
