dviguṇaṃ dviguṇīkṛtya preṣayāmāsa dānavaḥ /
tānapyaṣṭaguṇaiḥ kṛṣṇaśchādayāmāsa sāyakaiḥ //
The dānava doubled and doubled [the arrows] again and sent them; / but Kṛṣṇa covered them as well with arrows eight times as many.
