vyāsa uvāca:
karomi bhavatāmuktamatraiva sthīyatāṃ kṣaṇam /
yāvatprasādya saritaṃ karomi vidhimuttamam //

Vyāsa said: / 'I shall do what has been spoken by you. Please stay right here for a moment, / while I propitiate the river and perform the supreme rite.'
