aṣṭamyāṃ vā caturdaśyāṃ snāpayenmadhunā śivam /
vimuktakalmaṣaḥ sadyo jāyate nātra saṃśayaḥ //
On the eighth or the fourteenth [tithi], one should bathe Śiva with honey; / freed from blemish, he instantly becomes so, there is no doubt in this.
