vidherajñānena draviṇaviraheṇālasatayā
vidheyāśakyatvāttava caraṇayoryā cyutirabhūt .
tadetat kṣantavyaṃ janani sakaloddhāriṇi śive
kuputro jāyeta kvacidapi kumātā na bhavati ..2..

Through ignorance of ritual rules, lack of wealth, indolence,
and the inability to do what is enjoined, whatever lapse occurred regarding your feet,
all that must be forgiven, O Mother, redeemer of all, O Śivā;
a bad son may be born, but never is there a bad mother. || 2
