Thus. O Mother! O Creatress of the universe! People desiring poetic genius who do not cultivate you with the mind, that is, with consciousness possessing an introverted, non-conceptual activity—meaning they do not fix their attention, do not meditate with single-mindedness. This also implies recitation of mantra; because it was stated earlier that it is ‘contemplated or recited’, therefore they do not even recite your wisdom-mantra preceded by meditation. For them, poetic genius—possessing the intuitive genius to compose poetic structures—whence [could it arise]? It could not occur from any different, separate cause. Moreover, poetic genius means visionary insight, knowledge of the three times. Or, connecting ‘not’ with ‘whence’, this is the meaning: for those who do cultivate you, whence would poetic genius not arise? Meaning, because there is no cause for its non-arising, it must surely arise. For in reality, only through the primacy of regular recitation and so forth preceded by meditation is the attainment of the stated fruit seen; thus the syntax of the sentence should be applied through positive and negative concomitance. Of what nature? Holding a book and granting fearlessness in the left, meaning in the pair of left hands, from upper to lower respectively, holding a book consisting of the phonematic matrix script composed of the fifty letters, as the substratum of all worldly and unworldly literature, and the gesture of fearlessness; likewise, with a rosary in the right, meaning holding a rosary in the pair of right hands, in upper and lower positions. And in the Āgamas it is spoken of as twofold: constructed and unconstructed. As said in the Kulārṇava:
