brahmāṇḍapurāṇe-

by that [interpretation, it means]: Her crown is adorned, inlaid, with crescents of the moon, [namely] with moonstones. '[Wearing] a garland of human skulls': [either] Her garland, a string of pearls, is furnished with exceedingly large, white pearls resembling human skulls; or some say She has a garland of jasmine (mallikā) or a wreath of campaka flowers. 'Wearing garments red as the bandhūka blossom': She wears red garments that are red like the blossom of the bandhūka, like the bandhujīvaka flower; that is, She possesses smooth, red silk clothes. Likewise, '[She is] four-armed' (caturbhujā): She has four arms; because of the abundant expansion of the powers beginning with Śāntā belonging to the Goddess who is non-different from Śāntyatītā, She has four arms. 'Three-eyed' (trinayanā): She has three eyes, due to Her union with the triad of powers—will and the rest—manifested by Her own majesty. Likewise, Her breasts (stana)—the milk-bearing orbs—are plump (pīna)—that is, fleshy—and high (tuṅga)—that is, elevated; thus She has plump, high breasts. Hence, as if weighed down by their heaviness, Her body is marked, etched, in the middle, in the region of the waist, by three sunken, deep folds of skin—a fold (vali) being a wrinkle of the skin, by a triad of them; or Her body is bent low and marked with the three-fold bend (tribhaṅga), meaning She is beautiful in all Her limbs. That has been said in the Brahmāṇḍapurāṇa:
