[Such is the scriptural statement.] Therefore, in this context, the following is the sequence: first one should utter the root vidyā, and then the kālavidyā ending in 'haṃsa'. The full comprehension of the vidyā of the daily Nityā deity [is obtained as follows]: having calculated the sum of elapsed days of the Kali age (ahargaṇa) according to the rule declared in astronomical treatises, and divided [that sum] by the stated count of the kālavidyā, one sets aside the completed full cycles obtained as the quotient. Then, dividing the remaining number of days by the count of the complete circle (pūrṇamaṇḍala), the first letter of the Nityā of that day is produced by counting [the letters] using that quotient incremented by one. When the remainder is divided by thirty-six, one increments the quotient by one and joins the initial consonant with the vowel corresponding to that quantity. Having then made the second letter correspond [in number] to the remaining count, joined with 'ā' and 'ī', it becomes the Nityā of that day. For the vidyā of the daily Nityā thus generated, with whichever vowel its first letter is joined, the recitation is to be performed according to the previously stated manner, starting from that vowel up to that same vowel again. It is to be understood that these very [vidyās] are the tattvanityās. But the sequence of the paryāyanityās should be understood as previously stated, by calculating the elapsed days starting from the day of initiation (dīkṣā). Thus, in the current Kali age, starting from the beginning, there is one vidyā successively for each day. In that regard, due to the repetition of complete cycles of mantra recitation, when a few days remain at the end of that age, two vidyās each are to be completed every day. So it is stated in the venerable Tantrarāja:
