[On the words] 'sāvadyaṃ niravadyam' ('flawed or flawless'), and so forth. 'O wife of Bhairava! O Tripurā!'—this vocative is to be understood here too. Let this be flawed, with faults, or let it be flawless, free from faults. Let it be endowed with the fault of lacking ornamentation and rasas, or let it be free of it; what is the use of this worry?—there is no purpose whatsoever [in it]. Why? That person who has devotion to you will recite this hymn of praise. 'Surely' (nūnam): this is certain. Why even that? Because within myself, while engaged in composing a praise of your ladyship, an insignificance—a condition of having only a semblance of intellect—arose, generated in me right then from the attempt to do something impossible; even firmly reflecting upon this, knowing it with certainty, and remaining silent, nonetheless by devotion to you—by that which is of the nature of unsurpassed love toward you—
