śrīśiva uvāca /
pārade śivanirmāṇe nānāvighnaṃ yataḥ śive /
ata eva hi tatrādau śāntisvastyayanaṃ caret //
The venerable Śiva said: / Because there are manifold obstacles in the fashioning of Śiva from mercury, O Śivā, / therefore, right at the beginning one should perform a propitiatory and auspicious rite.
