diśāsu dvādaśapadaṃ vidiśāsu navo bhavet
evaṃ kṛte pade samyak sthaṇḍilaṃ kārayedbudhaḥ
there will be twelve squares in the cardinal directions, and nine in the intermediate directions.
The wise man, having thus properly prepared the squares, should construct consecrated ground (sthaṇḍila).
