ākrāntavedirbhavatī tadānī-madarśi muktānvitaśoṇaratnā |
karagrahārthaṃ bharatena bhūmyā lājotkarairvahniśikheva kīrṇā ||
Occupying the altar at that time, O sandal, adorned with pearls and red jewels, / you were seen, as it were, like a flame of fire strewn with heaps of parched grains, / for the taking of the hand of the earth by Bharata.
