ŚĀ 14,2
sthāṇur ayaṃ bhārahāraḥ kilābhūt | adhītya vedaṃ na vijānāti yo 'rtham | yo 'rthajña it sakalaṃ bhadram aśnute | nākam eti jñānavidhūtapāpmā ||

He is indeed a post, a mere bearer of a burden, / who, having studied the Veda, does not understand the meaning. / But he who knows the meaning attains all good; / shaking off evil through knowledge, he goes to heaven.
