āditye bṛhat, candramasyannam, vidyuti satyam, stanayitnau śabdaḥ, vāyāvindro vaikuṇṭhaḥ, ākāśe pūrṇam, agnau viṣāsahiḥ, apsu tejaḥ | ityadhidaivatam | atādhyātmam - ādarśe pratirūpaḥ, chāyāyāṃ dvitīyaḥ, pratiśrutkāyām asuriti, śabde mṛtyuḥ, svapne yamaḥ, śarīre prajāpatiḥ, dakṣiṇe' kṣiṇi vācaḥ, savye 'kṣiṇi satyasya ||

In the sun the great; in the moon food; in lightning truth; in thunder sound; in the wind Indra Vaikuṇṭha; in space the full; in fire the conqueror; in the waters radiance. Thus with respect to the deities. Now with respect to the self: in the mirror the counterpart; in the shadow the second; in the echo life; in sound death; in sleep Yama; in the body Prajāpati; in the right eye of speech; in the left eye of truth.
