When by the self one sees the Self, subtler than the subtle, shining forth through the dissolution of the mind, then, having seen the Self by the self, one becomes devoid of self. Because of being devoid of self, one is unreckonable, sourceless, unthinkable; this is the mark of liberation: this is the supreme secret.' For thus it is said: / 'By the serenity of the thought-mind, / one destroys good and evil karma; / with a serene self, abiding in the Self, / one enjoys imperishable bliss.'
