3.32

The first ghee offering verse belongs to Agni, the soma offering verse belongs to Soma, and the [second] ghee offering verse belongs to Viṣṇu.
With 'Thou, O Soma, in concord with the fathers' [ṚV 8.48.13], he offers for the [caru] dedicated to Soma with [a verse] containing the word 'fathers'.
They kill Soma when they press him;
they make this [caru] dedicated to Soma his cow-for-covering-the-corpse [anustaraṇī].
The anustaraṇī cow belongs to the fathers; therefore he offers for the [caru] dedicated to Soma with [a verse] containing the word 'fathers'.
They killed Soma when they pressed him; they restore him again,
they swell him again through the form of the upasads. For the form of the upasads is indeed these deities:
Agni, Soma, and Viṣṇu.
Having received the [caru] dedicated to Soma, the hotṛ priest should look upon it before the Chandogas [do].
Some carry it to the Chandogas beforehand. He should not do so.
'The maker of the vaṣaṭ-call consumes all portions first,' they say;
by that very form, therefore, only the maker of the vaṣaṭ-call
should look upon it first; then they carry it to the Chandogas.
