They undertake the six-day pṛṣṭhya rite. As the mouth is, so is the six-day pṛṣṭhya rite. Then, as the interior of the mouth is—tongue, palate, teeth—so are the chandomas. Then, that by which one articulates speech, by which one distinguishes sweet and unsweet, that is the tenth day. As the nostrils are, so is the six-day pṛṣṭhya rite. Then, as the interior of the nostrils is, so are the chandomas. Then, that by which one perceives odours, that is the tenth day. As the eye is, so is the six-day pṛṣṭhya rite. Then, as the black of the eye is within, so are the chandomas. Then, the pupil itself by which one sees, that is the tenth day. As the ear is, so is the six-day pṛṣṭhya rite. Then, as the interior of the ear is, so are the chandomas. Then, that by which one hears, that is the tenth day. The tenth day is indeed glory; they indeed attain glory who reach the tenth day. Therefore the tenth day is avivākya [not to be disputed]: 'Lest we dispute glory,' for it is hard to speak ill of what is better. They then creep [in procession]; they purify themselves; they enter the hall of the wife. Whichever of them knows this oblation, he should say: 'Take hold from behind!' He should offer: 'Rest here; rest ye here; here is support, here self-support; to Agni, vāṭ! to Svāhā, vāḷ!' When he says: 'Rest here,' he thereby makes them rest in this world. When he says: 'Rest ye here,' he thereby makes offspring rest in them. When he says: 'Here is support, here self-support,' he thereby establishes offspring and speech in the sacrificers. 'To Agni, vāḷ' is the rathaṃtara; 'To Svāhā, vāḷ' is the bṛhat. The bṛhat and the rathaṃtara are indeed a copulative pair of the gods; by means of that copulative pair of the gods they secure a copulative pair; through the copulative pair of the gods they propagate a copulative pair for procreation. He is propagated with offspring and cattle who knows thus. They then creep [in procession]; they purify themselves; they enter the fire-shed of the āgnīdhra priest. Whichever of them knows this oblation, he should say: 'Take hold from behind!' He should offer: 'Emitting the supporter, sucking the mother, the supporter / has maintained in us increase of wealth, nourishment, refreshment, svāhā!' Increase of wealth, nourishment, and refreshment he secures for himself and for the sacrificers, where one knowing thus offers this oblation.
