The sixth day is indeed the domain of the gods.
Those who come to the sixth day come to the domain of the gods.
Indeed, the gods do not dwell in each other's house; they say, 'Season does not dwell in the house of season.'
Thus the sacrificial priests perform the seasonal offerings according to their proper places, without mixing them.
Thus they arrange the seasons according to the season, and communities according to their proper places.
They say in this regard:
'[The priests] should not be directed with seasonal call-prompts (ṛtupraiṣa), nor should the vaṣaṭ-call be made with seasonal call-prompts.'
Speech indeed is the seasonal call-prompts; speech is attained on the sixth day.
If they were to direct with seasonal call-prompts, if they were to make the vaṣaṭ-call with seasonal call-prompts,
then they would come upon speech that is attained, weary, worn down in carrying, wailing under its load.
If, on the other hand, they were not to direct with them, or if they were not to make the vaṣaṭ-call with them,
they would fall away from that which is firm in the sacrifice; they would go astray from the sacrifice, from the breath, from Prajāpati, from cattle.
Therefore the direction should be made directly from the verses; the vaṣaṭ-call should be made directly from the verses.
Then they do not come upon speech that is attained, weary, worn down in carrying, wailing under its load;
they do not fall away from that which is firm in the sacrifice;
they do not go astray from the sacrifice, from the breath, from Prajāpati, from cattle.
