'Praise him whose power overcomes' is the hymn, having [the prefix] 'abhi' [overcoming], the characteristic for conquest. 'Invincible, mighty, overcoming through these' has [the words] 'mighty' and 'overcoming'; that is the characteristic of the kṣatra. It has fifteen verses. The fifteenfold [stoma] is vital power, faculties, and virility; the noble is vital power, the kṣatra, and virility; he thus endows him with vital power, the kṣatra, and virility. It is the Bhāradvāja hymn. The Bṛhat belongs to Bharadvāja; with the seer-ancestry it is in concord. That sacrifice of a Kṣatriya is indeed perfected which has the Bṛhat as its pṛṣṭha-stotra. Therefore, wherever a Kṣatriya sacrifices, the Bṛhat alone should be the pṛṣṭha-stotra there. That is perfection.
