He praised with it. He approached this iḷā. The iḷā indeed is cattle. Then indeed he obtained cattle. This sāman is conducive to cattle. He obtains cattle, he becomes rich in cattle, who knows thus. And because Rūra Itivṛdhra saw it, for that reason also it is called Raurava. Now the Yaudhājaya. Indra indeed, living by fighting (yudhā jīvan), saw this sāman. Because Indra, living by fighting, saw this sāman, that is the Yaudhājaya-nature of the Yaudhājaya. Without fighting, as it were, he conquers the spiteful rival, who knows thus. Yudhājīva Vaiśvāmitra, desiring a firm support, practiced austerity. He saw this sāman. He praised with it. Then indeed he stood firmly. This sāman is a firm support. He stands firmly who knows thus. And because Yudhājīva Vaiśvāmitra saw it, for that reason also it is called Yaudhājaya.
