Just as someone, having swum out into that ocean and found an island, having climbed out, would sit resting, just so indeed, having reached this finale, they may sit resting at will, not chanting.
It is based on the Iḷā.
Iḷā is cattle; cattle are all proper food.
He who sets out on a journey without provisions does not reach his goal.
Now, he who sets out with provisions reaches his goal.
This intermediate region here is indeed a supportless ocean.
There is no path across it for one without provisions, neither this way nor that.
Thus, having made cattle, all proper food, their provisions, they go.
The Śāktyas, desirous of food, underwent consecration.
Andhīgu Śāktya saw this sāman.
With it he praised.
He reached this ten-syllable Virāj in the middle of it.
The Virāj has ten syllables; the Virāj is food.
Then indeed they obtained the Virāj, proper food.
That sāman is the obtaining of the Virāj, of proper food.
He obtains the Virāj, proper food, and becomes an eater of food, the best among his own people, who knows thus.
And because Andhīgu Śāktya saw it, therefore it is called Āndhīgava.
