Breathings are indeed a dwelling.
He thereby strips away the breathings of his hateful rival; he places the breathings in himself.
Regarding this they say: "Those who undertake the Atirātra fall away, as it were, from this world."
In that there is the refrain containing "okaḥ"—this world is a dwelling for a man—he thereby becomes established in this very world.
Vītahavya Āśrāyasa, roaming about, having been expelled for a long time, desired: "May I go down into my own dwelling."
He saw this sāman.
He praised with it.
He approached the refrain as "okāḥ".
Thence indeed he went down into his own dwelling.
This is a wish-granting sāman.
That desire which he desired,
that desire was fulfilled for him.
Whatever desire one has when chanting with this sāman, that desire is fulfilled for him.
And in that it was fortune, he went indeed to kingship.
He attains fortune, he goes to kingship, who knows thus.
And because Vītahavya Āśrāyasa saw it, therefore it is named "the Vaitahavya with the okaḥ-refrain".
