tasmāttrivṛdeva stomānāṃ rathantaraṃ sāmnāmāśvinasya śastraṃ pratyudyantumarhata iti

against the Āśvina śastra? He should say: The Trivṛt is the breath; everything here is established in the breaths; the breaths hold up against all this; the breaths balance all this. These worlds are the Trivṛt; everything here is established in these worlds; these worlds hold up against all this; these worlds balance all this. The Rathantara is speech; everything here is established in speech; speech holds up against all this; speech balances all this. This [earth] is the Rathantara; everything here is established in this [earth]; this [earth] holds up against all this; this [earth] balances all this. Therefore the Trivṛt alone among the stomas, and the Rathantara among the sāmans, are able to hold up against the Āśvina śastra.
