As to what is called that sky, that is fearless;
for having reached that, one fears nothing.
Therefore it is that sky.
He offers for six days.
Twenty-four oblations are completed.
Twenty-four syllables indeed is the Gāyatrī.
Twenty-four are the Vasu gods;
they are attached to the Gāyatrī.
For them, for the Vasu gods, the Gāyatrī milks out desires, wish upon wish, syllable by syllable;
even so she milks for him who makes the offering.
He conquers the Gāyatrī among meters, the Vasu gods among gods.
He ascends to union, to co-existence with the Vasu gods, who, knowing thus, offers the fire-offering.
