Homage to the ocean, homage to the eye of the ocean!
Do not abandon me from your womb!'
When he says, 'I seat you in the seat of Āyu,' the sacrifice is indeed Āyu; this seat of it is prepared.
[When he says,] 'In the shade of the well,'
the sacrifice is indeed the well;
this shade of it is made, which is the sadas hall.
[When he says,] 'In the heart of the ocean,'
the heart is indeed in the middle of the self;
therefore the audumbarī post is erected in the middle of the sadas hall.
[When he says,] 'Homage to the ocean, homage to the eye of the ocean,'
speech is indeed the ocean, mind is the eye of the ocean;
to these two deities he thus pays homage.
Intending to perform the priestly office, [he says:] 'Do not abandon me from your womb!' The sāman is indeed your womb; to the sāman itself he pays homage.
When he is about to perform the priestly office, the sāman does not overcome him;
he does not encounter distress in the sāman;
he is not deprived of the sāman, who, knowing thus, pays homage to the sāman.
Whoever speaks ill of him meets with misfortune.
