He who strikes one who ought not to be struck commits a sin with the arms.
The fifteenfold [stoma] is the arms of the stomas.
By it they strike away evil from the arms itself.
Now, one who considers that he has committed a sin with his belly should sacrifice with the seventeenfold Agniṣṭut.
He who eats the food of someone whose food is uneatable commits a sin with the belly.
The seventeenfold [stoma] is the belly of the stomas.
By it they strike away evil from the belly itself.
Now, one who considers that he has committed a sin with his feet should sacrifice with the twenty-onefold Agniṣṭut.
He who wanders among [strange] folk commits a sin with the feet.
The twenty-onefold [stoma] is the firm foundation of the stomas.
By it they strike away evil from the feet itself.
Moreover, they say: 'One should sacrifice just with this Jyotiṣṭoma Agniṣṭoma.'
In that its Bahiṣpavamāna is ninefold, by it they strike away evil from the mouth itself.
And in that the Ājya [stotras] are fifteenfold and the midday [pavamāna] fifteenfold, by it they strike away evil from the arms itself.
And in that the pṛṣṭhas are seventeenfold and the Ārbhava [pavamāna] seventeenfold, by it they strike away evil from the belly itself.
And in that the Agniṣṭoma-sāman is twenty-onefold, by it they strike away evil from the feet itself.
