— these are indeed named the Rauhiṇakas. By these the gods ascended to the heavenly world. Because they ascended (arohan), they are the Rauhiṇakas. Therefore we perform the Agniṣṭoma-sāmans day after day. Now the two wheel-tracks are the Bṛhat and Rathantara. By these two does he roll along here. Therefore at the Atirātra we perform both, the Bṛhat and Rathantara, thinking: 'May the complete sāman, yoked, convey our sacrifice; by the complete sāman may we attain the conclusion.' Now the goal: the person who is yonder in the sun, and the one who is here in the self — that should be venerated as 'the course of Prajāpati' (Prajāpaty-ayana). By this course Prajāpati attained this prosperity, obtained this preeminence. The very prosperity that Prajāpati attained, the preeminence that he obtained, that very prosperity does he attain, that preeminence does he obtain, who knows thus.
