They saw this sacrifice, the Satrājit.
They grasped it.
They sacrificed with it.
Thereupon they conquered them completely.
Because they conquered them completely, that is the Satrājit-nature of the Satrājit.
He who knows thus conquers the spiteful rival completely.
It consists of twenty-five [parts].
The year consists of twenty-four half-months;
Prajāpati is the twenty-fifth.
From the year, from Prajāpati, they conquered them then.
It has twelve stotras.
The year has twelve months.
Month by month they conquered them from the year then.
It has twenty-four chanted verses and recitations.
The year consists of twenty-four half-months.
In regular succession, half-month by half-month, they conquered them from the year then.
Thereupon the gods prospered and the Asuras were defeated.
He prospers himself, and his spiteful rival is defeated, who knows thus.
