tasya yuvaṃ hi stha svaḥpatī ityeṣo pratipatkāryā
eṣā vai dvayossaṃyajamānayoḥ pratipat
tadu vā āhuḥ pavasva vāco agriya upāsmai gāyatā nara ityete eva pratipadau
kārye
ete vāva dvayoḥ saṃyajamānayoḥ pratipadau
atho ubhe hyatra sāmanī kriyete
tasmādete eva pratipadau kārye iti
tasminnetāni sāmānyavakalpayanti gauṣūktāśvasūkte hāviṣmata-hāviṣkṛte
ye dve dve sāmanī yāni dvayossaṃyajamānayossāmāni tāni
tasya virāṭsvarājamārbhavasya pavamānasyānuṣṭubhi kurvanti
virāṭsvarājo hyeṣa yajñaḥ
stomameva samardhayanti
For it, the opening verse to be used should be: 'For you two are lords of heaven.'
This indeed is the opening verse for two sacrificers together.
Concerning this, however, they say: '"Flow, foremost of speech!" and "Sing unto him, O men!"—these two opening verses
should be used.

In this [rite] they assign these sāmans: the Gauṣūkta and Aśvasūkta, the Hāviṣmata and Hāviṣkṛta,
which are pairs of sāmans, which are the sāmans of two sacrificers together.
They perform the Virāj-Svarāj on the Anuṣṭubh of the Ārbhava Pavamāna [stotra].
For this sacrifice is the Virāj-Svarāj.
They thereby make the stoma complete.

Now this is the Jyeṣṭhayajña (Sacrifice of Preeminence).
