tadyaddaivyaṃ mithunaṃ prajananaṃ tanmā prajanayāditi
tasyobhe bṛhadrathantare sāmanī bhavataḥ
etadvai daivyaṃ mithunaṃ prajananaṃ yadubhe bṛhadrathantare
tadyaddaivyaṃ mithunaṃ prajananaṃ tanmā prajanayāditi
tasya dvādaśa stotrāṇi bhavanti dvādaśa māsāssaṃvatsaraḥ
saṃvatsaraḥ prajananaṃ sa yaḥ prajananaṃ sa mā prajanayāditi
tasya caturviṃśati stutaśastrāṇi bhavanti caturviṃśatyardhamāsassaṃvatsaraḥ
saṃvatsaraḥ prajananaṃ sa yaḥ prajananaṃ sa mā prajanayāditi
atho āhu svargakāma evainena yajeteti
tasya pṛṣṭhyasya ṣaḍahasya stomā bhavantyṛtavo vai pṛṣṭhāni
saṃvatsara ṛtavaḥ
saṃvatsara svargo loka svargasyaiva lokasya samaṣṭyai
tasyordhvā stomā bhavantyūrdhvo vai svargo loka svargasyaiva lokasya samaṣṭyai
tasyobhe bṛhadrathantare sāmanī bhavata svargye svargasyaiva lokasya samaṣṭyai
tasya dvādaśa stotrāṇi bhavanti dvādaśa māsāssaṃvatsaraḥ
saṃvatsara svargo loka svargasyaiva lokasya samaṣṭyai
tasya caturviṃśati stutaśastrāṇi bhavanti caturviṃśatyardhamāsassaṃvatsaraḥ
saṃvatsara svargo loka svargasyaiva lokasya samaṣṭyai
[Thinking:] 'May that divine pair, [capable of] procreation, generate me [offspring]!'
Both the Bṛhat and the Rathantara sāmans belong to it.
That indeed is a divine pair, [capable of] procreation, namely both the Bṛhat and the Rathantara.

There are twelve stotras for it; the year has twelve months.
The year is procreation; [thinking:] 'May that which is procreation generate me [offspring]!'

Moreover they say: 'One who desires the heavenly world should sacrifice with this.'
Its stomas are those of the pṛṣṭhya six-day period; the pṛṣṭhas are the seasons;
the year is the seasons;
the year is the heavenly world: [it is] for the attainment of the heavenly world.
Its stomas are ascending; upward indeed is the heavenly world: [it is] for the attainment of the heavenly world.
Both the Bṛhat and Rathantara sāmans belong to it; [they are] heavenly: [it is] for the attainment of the heavenly world.
