He saw these Āprī-ājyas. / With them he gratified himself for freshness. / He is, as it were, emptied out when he gives everything away. / In that these Āprī-ājyas occur, by them the sacrificer gratifies himself for freshness. / On this point they say: 'They are deprived of the breaths, / who combine these [chants] having various forms, dedicated to various deities, and in various meters in the same sacrificial performance.' / In that the Bṛhat is on Gāyatrī [verses], the Bṛhat is breath; / the Gāyatrī is breath; thus they are endowed with breaths. / If they were to apply the pṛṣṭhas according to their order, they should make the Revatīs the last; these verses have the form of the Revatīs; thereby they do not deviate from the form of the Revatīs. / On this point they say: 'They deviate from the Agniṣṭoma-sāman who perform a thirty-threefold stoma.' / These verses have twenty-one syllables. / Thereby they do not deviate from the Agniṣṭoma-sāman. / On this point they say: 'They deviate from the Yajñāyajñīya who make the Bṛhat the Agniṣṭoma-sāman.' / In that there is [the verse], 'You, O Agni, are the hotṛ of the sacrifices,' thereby they do not deviate from the form of the Yajñāyajñīya; thereby they do not deviate from the third pressing. / On this point they say: 'He is deprived of cattle when he gives everything away.'
