Then these [verses] beginning: "I praise the stream of you flowing..." are made the share of the uṣṇih at the ārbhava-pavamāna.
They consist of seven-syllable pādas;
seven are the breaths;
they go on, flourishing with the breaths;
they find support in the breaths.
Moreover, they harm a Brahmin who should not be harmed, or one learned in the Veda (śrotriya), or a householder;
in that they consist of seven-syllable pādas, they flourish precisely through the breaths.
They are four-footed for firm support;
for they say: "As a four-footed [animal] he has stood firm."
The abhīvarta [sāman] is firmly established upon them;
the abhīvarta is speech;
those who run the vrātyā course are deprived of speech;
in that the abhīvarta is used, they flourish through speech.
"O Agni, come with the fires..." is the agniṣṭomasāman;
all gods are indeed fires;
through this, they reach all the gods.
It is thirty-three-fold;
thirty-three are all the deities;
they find firm support at the conclusion of the sacrifice in all these deities.
