Agni is an ājidoha sāman, Vāyu is an ājidoha sāman, that Āditya is an ājidoha sāman. / In that the ājidoha sāmans occur day after day, he firmly establishes himself in these very deities. / These worlds are called 'the race-courses' (āji). / These are the milkings (doha) of them. / He milks these worlds, who knows this. / Day after day there are the arka sāmans; food is the arka, [they are] for the attainment of food. / The Svāśira-arka is on the first day. / The waters are svāśir (well-mixed milk); / and the waters are food. / One without food does not travel a long road. / The Arka of Agni is on the second day. / The intermediate region is the realm of the second day. / The intermediate region is darkness, [full of] Rakṣases moving together; Agni is the smiter of Rakṣases, / [it is] for the smiting of Rakṣases. / The Arka of Dīrghatamas is on the third day. / The Arka of Dīrghatamas belongs to the Jagatī; / the third day belongs to the Jagatī; / they enrich the day by its own form.
