The subsequent stotras are thirty-threefold; thirty-three, indeed, are the deities, for the attainment of the deities.
The Mahāvrata is twenty-fivefold; the twenty-fivefold is indeed food, for the obtaining of food.
The Agniṣṭoma-sāman is thirty-fourfold.
Thirty-three, indeed, are the deities;
Prajāpati is the thirty-fourth.
He establishes himself at the end of the sacrifice in those deities accompanied by Prajāpati.
There is the pṛṣṭhya six-day period itself; then as to what the seventh day is: its pavamāna chants are twenty-fourfold; the recurring [stotra] is thirty-threefold; the Mahāvrata is twenty-fivefold; the Agniṣṭoma-sāman is thirty-fourfold.
The sacrifice, as it were, is exhausted when this pṛṣṭhya six-day period is exhausted.
As to why the pavamāna chants of the seventh day are twenty-fourfold: [it is so that] at each pressing-mouth the sacrifice may be taken hold of by us.
The recurring [stotra] is thirty-threefold; thirty-three, indeed, are the deities, for the attainment of the deities.
The Mahāvrata is twenty-fivefold; the twenty-fivefold is indeed food, for the obtaining of food.
The Agniṣṭoma-sāman is thirty-fourfold.
Thirty-three, indeed, are the deities;
Prajāpati is the thirty-fourth.
He establishes himself at the end of the sacrifice in those deities accompanied by Prajāpati.
