trivṛtā vai stuvata iti mṛtyuḥ pañcadaśamevābhipratyādravadidamevāta eṣyantīti
athetare saptadaśamabhyatyakrāman
te saptadaśenāstuvata
saptadaśena vai stuvata iti mṛtyurekaviṃśamabhiparyetyātiṣṭhadidamata eṣyantīti
tamekaviṃśe'nvāgacchan
taṃ tata udarundhan
sa triṇavamabhyudakrāmat
athetara ekaviṃśena stutvā saptadaśenaiva punarastuvata
saptadaśena vai stuvata iti mṛtyurekaviṃśamevābhipratyādravadidamevāta eṣyantīti
athetare triṇavamabhyatyakrāman
te triṇavenāstuvata
triṇavena vai stuvata iti mṛtyustrayastriṃśamabhiparyetyātiṣṭhadidamata eṣyantīti
taṃ trayastriṃśe'nvāgacchan
taṃ tata udarundhan
sa chandomānabhyudakrāmat
athetare trayastriṃśena stutvā triṇavenaiva punarastuvata
triṇavena vai stuvata iti mṛtyustrayastriṃśamevābhipratyādravadidamevāta eṣyantīti
Then the others, having praised with the fifteen-fold, praised again with the trivṛt itself. Thinking, ‘They are praising with the trivṛt,’ Death ran back right toward the fifteen-fold, [thinking], ‘They will come right here next.’ Then the others stepped over to the seventeen-fold; they praised with the seventeen-fold. Thinking, ‘They are praising with the seventeen-fold,’ Death went around and stood by the twenty-one-fold, [thinking], ‘They will come here next.’ They came after him in the twenty-one-fold; they drove him away from there. He stepped up to the twenty-seven-fold. Then the others, having praised with the twenty-one-fold, praised again with the seventeen-fold itself. Thinking, ‘They are praising with the seventeen-fold,’ Death ran back right toward the twenty-one-fold, [thinking], ‘They will come right here next.’ Then the others stepped over to the twenty-seven-fold; they praised with the twenty-seven-fold. Thinking, ‘They are praising with the twenty-seven-fold,’ Death went around and stood by the thirty-three-fold, [thinking], ‘They will come here next.’ They came after him in the thirty-three-fold; they drove him away from there. He stepped up to the Chandomas. Then the others, having praised with the thirty-three-fold, praised again with the twenty-seven-fold itself. Thinking, ‘They are praising with the twenty-seven-fold,’ Death ran back right toward the thirty-three-fold, [thinking], ‘They will come right here next.’

Then the others took refuge in the Viśvajit, the Sarvapṛṣṭha, their father Prajāpati.

Thereupon, having outwitted Death, they became immortal.
