—[and] one into the Yajñāyajñīya. The morning pressing belongs to the Gāyatrī; the midday pressing belongs to the Triṣṭubh; the third pressing belongs to the Jagatī. Even being a Brahmin, he has brilliance like that of a kṣatriya, and wealth and nourishment like that of a vaiśya, who knows this. And in terms of its syllables, the morning pressing amounts to the Gāyatrī, the midday pressing to the Triṣṭubh, and the third pressing to the Jagatī: sixty-nine stoma verses of the morning pressing, sixty Triṣṭubhs of the midday pressing, and twenty-four Jagatīs of the third pressing. The Kakubh is one. Man is indeed a Kakubh. That sacrificer himself has attained and mounted upon this. In this way it corresponds right there. Nothing remains in excess. Having taken four syllables from the one Kakubh of twenty-eight syllables, he places three into the deficiency of the Vāmadevya [sāman], and one into the Yajñāyajñīya. Then the Gāyatrī that remains over, that he places over there into the sixty-nine stoma verses of the morning pressing. That indeed is endless. He wins endless prosperity who knows this.
