This indeed distinguishes the divine form and the human form; he who knows thus parts with evil.
He who knows the choice portion of the gods takes up a choice portion, becomes worthy of a choice portion.
The bahiṣpavamāna is indeed the choice portion of the gods.
With it, having uttered "hiṃ" once, they chant straight forward.
Therefore the choice portion is turned forward.
This very [Prajāpati] is the highest of the gods.
His choice portion is creatures.
He takes up a choice portion from Prajāpati himself, becomes worthy of a choice portion, who knows thus.
Because, having extracted this essence of the sacrifice, he presents it turned forward to Prajāpati, therefore those about to chant with the bahiṣpavamāna glide like bowed down, like excited.
Such indeed is the attendance upon an elder.
Therefore one should not talk during his stotra.
For who deserves to disparage the serving of food of an elder?
He who disparages the serving of food of an elder—with whatever ruin he wishes for him, to that he leads him.
Now, when the adhvaryu speaks the ritual summonses after that, having presented that essence of the sacrifice to Prajāpati, he replenishes him.
Thereby, chanted by him having drunk, rich in essence, it becomes effective.
