Where one who knows thus sacrifices, or where one who knows thus officiates at sacrifice, the gods cannot prevent themselves from going there; whether they are going to consume or whether they are not, they certainly go. If he is pure, they consume; if he is impure, they look on. Even that is praiseworthy, to whom they come looking on. He who knows the vessel of the gods becomes worthy of the vessel among his own people. The Brahmin indeed is the vessel of the gods. Worthy of the vessel among his own people becomes he who knows thus. Just as people wish to drink with a clean, pure vessel, so indeed the gods wish to drink through a clean, pure Brahmin. Therefore, a Brahmin should strive to be pure and clean.
