apacchidyeva vā etadyajñakāṇḍe yadukthāni
tadyadāvatīrbhavanti yajñasyaiva salomatāyai
'May we thrive, O Agni, in thy...'— / thus they are verses with 'ā'. / That which is the ukthas in the sacrificial division is as if cut off. / That they are verses with 'ā' is for the smooth continuation of the sacrifice.
