en: The out-breath and in-breath are Mitra and Varuṇa. If they were to place the refrain at the end, they would strike down out-breath and in-breath. In that they place no refrain at the end, it is for the emission of out-breath and in-breath. “Break away all enemies!”—this is addressed to Indra. “Strike down the besiegers and the foes!”—it contains the word ‘slaying’. This indeed is the sacrificer's own stotra, which belongs to the Brahman priest. In his own domain they slay all evil of the sacrificer. “Bring that desirable wealth of yours, of which everyone partakes, of abundant gift! Bring that desirable wealth! What is in the stronghold, O Indra, what is firm, what is borne away into the crevice, bring that desirable wealth!” Cattle indeed are desirable wealth; cattle indeed are food. Those blessings the udgātṛ invokes for the sacrificer. They place the refrain at the end. The sixth day is sap, to prevent its overflowing.
