Now the Aukṣṇorandhra.
Ukṣṇorandhra Kāvya desired: 'May I ascend up along the waters to the heavenly world; may I see my paths, an entry-way into the waters.'
He saw this sāman.
He praised with it.
Then indeed he ascended up along the waters to the heavenly world; he saw his paths, an entry-way into the waters.
He was indeed of the Romaṇvant country.
He was indeed Uśanas Kāvya.
He ascended up along the waters of the Yamunā to the heavenly world.
This is indeed a heaven-bestowing sāman.
He who knows this ascends up along the waters to the heavenly world.
Because Ukṣṇorandhra Kāvya saw it, therefore it is called the Aukṣṇorandhra.
Moreover, [it is called] the Āponiyāna, because he saw an entry-way into the waters.
