Prajāpati is indeed space. Then, as to why the ekaviṃśa is 'the supporter': for he is yonder Āditya. In him this whole universe is supported. Then, as to why the triṇava is 'force': for he is the Maruts. The Maruts are force and vital power. The triṇava is force and vital power. Then, as to why the trayastriṃśa is 'foundation': for he is the end. Then, as to why the caturviṃśa is 'the brahman': for that is the Gāyatrī. The Gāyatrī is indeed the brahman. Then, as to why the catuścatvāriṃśa is 'the kṣatra': for that is the Triṣṭubh. And the Triṣṭubh is indeed the kṣatra. Then, as to why the aṣṭācatvāriṃśa is 'the turning of the clans' stoma: for that is the Jagatī. The Jagatī is indeed the clan. And the clan is all this, the Anuṣṭubh. This is the setting out; this is the conclusion. Therefore they proceed from here, they emerge from here. Agni is the setting out; Āditya is the conclusion. He who knows this goes properly, knowing this world.
