That is this covered, existent with the existent. Now as for "cutting apart the cattle, we come": this one is divided, as it were, which is the one-and-a-half iḷā prepared with food. The iḷās are cattle. Therefore they consume cattle in cuts, in portions. Now as for "we arrive": saying "here," they established themselves firmly on this [earth]. Then indeed healing was performed for these cattle. Because this case-inflection of the iḷā, being identical, is yet varied, therefore cattle are of diverse forms. [Cattle] are born after this of diverse forms. When one begins with a verse, that is the mark of the first day; surrounded [by stobhas] is of the second; surrounded on both sides is of the third; not pushed is of the fourth; repeated is of the fifth; repeated with the sound iha is of the sixth. Because this musical-pitch variation, being identical, is yet varied, therefore this wind blows according to the season: cold in winter, hot in summer. "O Indra" is the case-form of the first day; "Indra" (accusative) of the second; "by Indra" of the third; "Indra" (nominative) of the fourth; "from Indra" of the fifth; and "O Indra" again of the sixth. Because this case-inflection of Indra, being identical, is yet varied, therefore that sun yonder shines according to the season: cold in winter, hot in summer.
