He came into being as Prajāpati, composed of mind, composed of breath, composed of eye, composed of ear, composed of speech, composed of ṛc, composed of yajus, composed of sāman, composed of brahman, golden, immortal. This is indeed the lightning. This is indeed the three Vedas. That lightning which is upward, that is the sāmans; that which is transverse, that is the verses; that which flickers continuously, that is the yajus. He who knows this thus becomes this deity. In this deity, indeed, the sacrifice is fully praised. When they ask: 'In which deity does the sacrifice become fully praised?', he should say: 'In the lightning.' In this deity, indeed, the sacrifice is fully praised. Therefore, if one should sacrifice with the twelve-day rite with disarranged meters, he should also sacrifice with the arranged meters. For one who knows thus, the sacrifice has been performed with both.
