'There was neither the non-existent nor the existent then; there was no realm of air, nor the sky beyond.
What enveloped? Where? In whose shelter? Was there water, deep and fathomless?'
In that non-existent [which was yet] existent, while nothing at all existed, light-bearing order floated up; light-bearing truth floated up; light-bearing ascetic heat floated up.
Now, what is order, that is speech; what is truth, that is breath; what is ascetic heat, that is mind.
Food was their very light.
They became one.
Having become one, it swelled with this food, with light.
It became just as a lump of honey or a well-filled waterskin might be; not so [otherwise].
It thought: 'Come, let me make breath below.'
It made breath below, just as is this opening below of a woman.
From that, waters were emitted with the speech: 'bala, valaba'.
This became waters, a great flood.
When they say this: 'Waters indeed were this great flood in the beginning,' these are those waters.
Those waves were churning together: 'phāl, phāṣ'.
It developed together into a golden egg.
