sarvamityupāsitavyam
For to him all this has come together.
Therefore he is the sāman.
He indeed is the udgītha.
Now as for [the syllable] 'ud': by this all this is supported upward.
Now as for [the syllable] 'gī': for this one swallows all this.
Now as for [the syllable] 'tha': this is food for him.
Therefore he is the udgītha.
He indeed is brahman.
For he bears (bibharti) all this.
Therefore he is brahman.
His name is verily Bharma.
That they cryptically call 'Brahman'.
This deity bears him both in this world and in yonder world, who knows thus.
He who thus knows this twelve-day rite established in relation to the deities, in relation to the sun, in relation to the person, in relation to the self, is established in the sun; all Vedas, all deities, all worlds yield desires to him; surpassing the deities, he wins co-residence with Brahman.
He is Uktha, he is the verse, he is the sacrificial formula, he is the sāman, he is the udgītha, he is brahman, he indeed is all this: thus should one meditate.
