He cried toward the Virāj; from that, he created the Apsarases, with Tvaṣṭṛ as their head. He cried toward the Kakubh; from that, he created the serpents, with the Aṅgirases as their head. He cried toward the Uṣṇih; from that, he created the Aṅgirases, with the Atharvans as their head. He cried toward the Akṣarapaṅkti; from that, he created the Asuras, with Asita as their head. He cried toward the Viṣṭārapaṅkti; from that, he created the Fathers, with Yama as their head. He cried toward the Dvipadā; from that, he created humans, with Mṛtyu as their head. He cried toward the Ekapadā; from that, he created the birds, likewise with Mṛtyu as their head. He cried toward the boundless meter; from that, he created cattle, with Dhātṛ as their head. Having created all this, he strode upward. He went to where they know him above.
